I see You
In 2021 I relocated from Taranaki to Te Tai Tokerau / The Far North. It wasn’t a smooth transition and it stirred up a variety of emotions. Pushing unpleasant feelings away usually doesn’t work. This time my intention was to be as curious and welcoming as possible.
Everyday I sat down to work on one picture, letting emotions like sadness, loneliness, anger, and fear freely flow into these creations, I did it intuitively, not knowing what will show up in which way. While doing so - stitch by stitch - it became very obvious that these emotions are not scary, unchangeable entities. In fact they are fluid compositions of my minds unlimited capability, just waiting for me to be explored and to bring me back to where I truly belong.
